Who’s here

You don’t just arrive to a key and a lockbox.

Pablo at Kling Kling
Pablo

Lives on the property. Caretaker, gardener, security, and if you want him to be, guide. He knows the reef, the fishermen, the river, and where the horses come down to the beach. Guests mention him more than anything else.

Raquel at Kling Kling
Raquel

Housekeeping, and by arrangement, the cooking. Jamaican breakfasts, curries, whatever is in the market that day. Arranged with her directly, day by day, as much or as little as you want.

Patsy

Helps Raquel in the house.

Laura

Owns the house and grew up in it. A painter, living in Scotland. Her brother is in Jamaica, and she visits often.

The dogs

Three, friendly, farm dogs. They keep an eye on who comes up the lane.

Need to know

Things guests tell each other, so we may as well tell you.

“There may be occasional human error or even the odd wild life or mosquito visiting.” Laura

No WiFi, no AC, no TV. No parties.

Getting here: about an hour and a half from Montego Bay airport, twenty minutes from Ocho Rios, then a third of a mile down a lane. Nearest shop: a grocery, five minutes by car.

Minimum stay three nights. Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 10am.

Mosquitoes come out at sundown, so bring repellent and long sleeves. After heavy rain the river runs into the sea and it goes brown for a day or two; it clears. Bring water shoes, the shoreline is not soft sand all the way. On public holidays there is sometimes music from next door until dark. Route taxis work, but a car makes the week easier.

Hurricane Melissa came through in October 2025. The house has been repaired and is open.

“No WiFi and no AC meant we actually played family games and spent time outside.”
